Being a Comedian is Lonely

... I don't really mean that in an over arching sense. I've found that having a little bit of a funny knack has been one of the most socially rewarding attributes that I posses. I mean it more along the lines that as far as I'm aware there isn't really a stable community of funny-philanders or mirth-makers. Or if there is I haven't found my way to ( Read more... )

Thoughts? Yes. The thing with community is that they need a way to communicate. What you would like to see happen needs to be communicated. I'm thinking a website or a magazine. Like the theatre arts magazines in the office at UPS that have feature articles about cool stuff that people are accomplishing, but also resource pages in the back that point you to job openings and programs to which you can apply ( ... )

UT is getting a website soon(Courtesy Nik Perleros, who rocks) and I can see it expanding at some point into something of what I was thinking above. I'm imagining a kind of YOU-T portion of the site or something.

Sweet! Yeah, Nik does some amazing design work so it'll definitely be cool. Well, I'm glad things are in the works then!

I think there are tons of comedy resources out there but they mostly take the form of blogs and youtube clips. I find that comedy on the internet is just an extension of the resume or demo reel which is great, but is not collaborative.

I would be interested in seeing a collaborative comedy website. I don't know if I would use it as much as someone like you or Sross might, but I would be happy to have it available.

I would be happy to talk to you in person about getting a calendar or rss feed going as well as some sort of BBS/forum if you really think it's something we could/should do.

I just finished a long-term web development project for work and it's giving me delusions of grandeur...

It would be rad if we could talk in person. And if I interpreted your last message correctly you're going to be moving up to Seattle at some point right? I'm thinking that with Nik's design skills and your newfound internetworking capabilities (proof to the point I had no idea what you meant by rss feed) we could get some really wicked awesome stuff going on.

By the way any specifics on when you're going to be heading up here?
