Leftovers
It was the smell that hit Becker first.
Something had come through the anomaly then ripped through the office in a killing frenzy. It left when it had found itself trapped. No doubt such easy pickings were like a feast.
Someone had locked the door. From the outside. He hoped that they'd done it after the inhabitants were dead, but he'd seen some cowardly things since taking this job so who knew? The survivors weren't confessing anything.
Sickened, he picked his way through the room. Such tiny scraps left. So much blood
Locking the anomaly was all he could do.
