Pitch Black was one of the few films Connor forced on him that Becker actually enjoyed.
Becker could hear breathing, several creatures breathing, surrounding him in the dark place where the anomaly had trapped him.
He recalled one of the characters lighting up briefly to find himself surrounded in the moment before he died. It was effective, as a film.
If he reached out he could touch whatever was there, unseen in the dark. Instead he reached for his phone and the light it contained.
They recoiled only momentarily at the sudden flare of light.
Becker wished he'd remained blind.
