Well now, about that time again it seems. Discedomas, 'tis the season, and what-have-you. The weather has definitely cooled and I see no signs of that plant that gives you an electric shock, so I suppose we're safe for now from it ( Read more... )

You need not chastise me, Balthier. This time, I mean to comply with orders and do as the doctors ask.

...I have not the energy to do otherwise.

Should you make your stew, I would not decline it.

I chastise because I worry.

I'll bring some up then. I'm sure you could use the company.

... I know.

I shall await you, then.

[Almost doing as instructed, Ashe is sitting on the bed rather than in it; she'd been sleeping, her hair quite dishevelled though the dark circles below her eyes aren't so prominent. In silence, she waits for the pirate to knock.]

[It's a while before he heads up to hospital, mostly because cooking the stew, literally from scratch, takes some time. Still, he arrives as promised and hell, the food is even still warm. Smiling, he sets the covered bowl down by her bed and nods.]

How do you feel?

Something of that kidney. It's not a holiday from my world, so I don't know the specifics beyond the usual gifts and food customary to any celebration worth it's salt.

But I never decline an offer to partake in good drink and fine company.

It's sort of a ... couple's holiday, where I'm from. It's funny to think of this place celebrating it.

[Would rather there was no evil plant of electric shocking powers this year.]

Is there anything I can do to help with dinner, Balthier?

[But Basch, don't you want to get caught under the mistletoe with Chocobo?]

You could help me skin the carcass. And just a bit of help in the kitchen. Fancy coming with me to see Ashe?

"Discedomas"? There's a lot in that you should probably explain.

I'd love to explain. It seems like some sort of winter solstice religious holiday from the world called Earth. People were keen on celebrating it last year, but since not everyone was informed about the holiday, Demyx or Nani renamed it to make it inclusive for the entire population.

I gathered that much. I meant more along the lines of the Scientists' interference.

I can't recall the original name of the holiday. It's something from earth.

Gifts and electric plants and some such rubbish.

I am aware of it, I just wondered why it was called Discedomas here.

Because the city is called Discedo.
