Seeing as House is my newest obsession, I gave in and wrote some fanfiction rather that work on my IB history paper that's due Monday. *shrugs* At least I have my priorities straight.

Common Courtesy

Chase looks up from his crossword to see House’s bright blue eyes and a mischievous grin mere inches from his own face.

“What do you think you’re doing?”

“Don’t mind me,” House leans impossibly closer and it’s all Chase can do not to blush. “I’m just testing a theory I have.”

“Uh,” Chase swallows nervously, “care to fill me in?”

“Now, why would I do that?”

Chase shrugs and leans back in his chair, distancing himself from House.

“I don’t know, common courtesy maybe. And didn’t your mother ever tell you it’s rude to stare?”

“Aw, but you’re just so cute.” House reaches over to pinch one of his cheeks and Chases knows he’s blushing profusely now.

Chase tries to get back to the puzzle, but House being so close is distracting and he can’t seem to think straight.

“Kiss me.” Chase thinks his heart might've just stopped.

“W-what?”

“That wasn’t a request Robert, it’s 42 across.”

Chase looks at the crossword and sure enough, 1953 Oscar-nominated musical: ___ ___ Kate, stares back at him.

“Oh.”

“Disappointed?”

“Uh, no…why would I be?”

“Well, for one, you look like someone killed your puppy, but what do I know?”

House goes back to watching Chase as he tries to pretend that House isn’t close enough for him to kiss. Needless, to say it doesn’t work and Chase ends up feeling all flustered inside with butterflies in his stomach that threaten to escape if he doesn’t do something. Luckily, House saves him the trouble and suddenly grabs Chase, pulling him in for a quick, rough kiss.

“W-what was that?”

“Like I said, I’m testing out a theory.”

“Will you tell me what it is now?”

“It’s nothing big really. I was just thinking that you probably taste better than you look.”

Until now, Chase didn’t think it was possible to die from blushing too much.

“S-so, what’s the verdict?” He tries not to look too hopeful.

“I’d say I was right, but I think I’m going to need another taste.”

This time House is gentler, not that Chase minded. He figures any sort of kiss from House is good enough for him. Afterwards, House leans back and looks at Chase expectantly.

“What?”

“You know, it’s only common courtesy that you do all the work this time.”

Chase just rolls his eyes and smacks House with the newspaper, before leaning over to kiss him.

-end-

I should really be sleeping now.
