Do not feel guilty.

First of all, what Mother Nature does is not your fault. If She wants to fuck shit up, She will as only She can.

Second, you do what you can. You gave money. You helped. You think it didn't help? Don't delude yourself. It certainly did.

You're worried it didn't help enough?

Sweetie, you can make yourself CRAZY thinking like that. Given the breadth of the destruction, and the fact that it's going to take years to fix, if it can be fixed, even those celebrities who are donating $1M aren't giving enough. But you do what you can. And yes, like Monkey said, your $50 may be a drop in the bucket, but it helped at least one person.

You cannot save the world, much as you may like to. It's very humbling to realize how limited we can be, even given the best intentions.

Please don't doubt your sweet self like this. You do what you can.

And if devastation ever hits Alabammy, you and Mr. Hippie are always welcome at my house.
