Interview meme

Oct 07, 2005 14:31

Here are the rules:

1 -- Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
2 -- I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
3 -- You'll update your journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
4 -- You'll include this explanation.
5 -- You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed.

1. What would your dream job be? The one you'd do even if it meant only having enough to just get by, because it would be what you wanted to spend all your days doing.

I want to be a respected author. I'd rather receive rave reviews for my work from critics I respect than a six (or more) figure publishing deal.

2. If you could be any kind of were-creature, what animal type would you pick, and why? (Were-blindnekkidmolerats don't need an explanation.)

Wow, this is a hard one. A few years ago I went through a phase where I was fascinated with were-creatures. I think I'll have to say some kind of were-bird. Nothing large and grandiose, either. A small, inconspicuous bird that could easily blend in in most developed societies. I could snoop with relative ease and go where I wanted when I wanted. :)

3. Do you secretly have a favorite cat? Which one and why?

Of course not! I would never play favorites, what kind of kitty mom do you think I am?!?!? But if I did play favorites... I guess it would have to be little Alien. He'll be five in April. He is a tall, slender, silky black cat with beautifully enormous yellow eyes. Shortly after we got our first kitty, Patch, we thought he might be lonely while we were at work all day and decided to find a friend for him. That same night, we went out shopping for... well, who can remember, and a lady was sitting outside the mall with a cardboard box on her lap. In the box were two scrawny little black kitties. She was desperate to find a home for them and determined not to take them to the humane shelter. We originally wanted only one additional kitty, but felt too guilty leaving the other one behind. Alien was the one who would have been left behind. I don't know what his other siblings looked like, but I'm almost certain he was the runt. He weighed all of 1.7 pounds when we took him to the vet. Little guy wasn't even ready for solids for a while. I fed him myself. He's grown into a large, graceful, sinewy beast who is waaaaaay too smart. He's very chatty and sweet (although not a sponge type cuddler, he just likes to be near us). I don't even think I'm his favorite person, but I must admit, he is my favorite kitty. :)

4. Who in your life has had the biggest positive influence on you as a person? Why?

All right. As tired and cliche as this may sound, my husband has had the biggest positive influence on me. Before I met him I didn't truly believe that I deserved respect in a romantic relationship. I didn't truly believe that I had anything valuable to offer another person. He's opened my eyes to so many different, wonderful aspects of life, and helped me develop into who I am today, and that is someone who is open minded, evolving, and most importantly, happy with herself.

5. What's something that you really wish you knew how to do that might be unusual and unexpected?

This is the most difficult of the five questions for me to answer. There is so much I *don't* know how to do that I would like to know how to do! You know I never learned how to drive a stick shift? *ashamed* It's true. There are a handful of languages I wish I could speak, too. Geez, this is tough. Okay, I know what it is. I wish I knew how to work on cars and trucks. I wish I didn't have that stereotypical dumbass in the headlights look when I take my car in for repairs. I wish I could do it myself.
