Possibly until I have lived in Southern California for as long as I lived in the midwest, I don't think I'll ever get over that amazingly awesome, mood-lifting feeling of driving down some freeway towards/next to the mountains and listening to Tom Petty.   Or the Beach Boys.  Or the Mamas and the Papas.  Or The Doors.  Or that Phantom Planet song

I've been reasonably successful so far in my ongoing campaign to bring people to Seattle, so I think it might just be the West Coast.
