I know what you mean about helping others by using some of what i learned in therapy - sometimes they listen , sometimes they don't, and on a cranky note i slightly resent sharing the psychiatry which i pay for...anyhow, i know it helps to "relate", but not too much, mostly just listen and be soothing, even if you don't really agree or understand their problem. you did good.

I always appreciate it when someone passes off a bit of wisdom to me. I dont mind passing off the free help if indeed it helps someone. but then again I get my therapy for free.

actually it is not so bad anymore - it was earlier in my therapy when i was being asked by friendsto give them advice, and i was still trying to apply the "paid for" therapy; besides i could be giving the totally wrong answers or suggestions, you never know. It's like playing with matches.
