He owes a lot to May-without her help, he might never have caught Ralts that day and formed the close bond he had with it in order to live his dreams. Since that say, he has always admired and looked up to May as both a rival and like something of an older sister. Thus, he enjoys being in her company, whether they're battling or just spending time together at social gatherings and the like, as well as probably being one of the few people he can confide in. (Not for everything, but for some things if he feels like he really needs to talk to someone) She's probably one of the few people that can get him to easily leave a cave or mountain if she ever needed any help with something or just for a friendly battle or hanging out somewhere. (Not to mention that his Gardevoir and her Gallade have a thing for each other XD)
