It is when Finland comes home from the war that Sweden had decided to sit out of -- rifle slung over his shoulder and a bandage wrapped over one of his sweetly smiling eyes -- when he is reminded of what made him want Finland as his wife in the first place.
Frown
“’m sr’y” Sweden grimaces at Finland’s slightly disappointed expression, “I tr’d-” he looks up at the sound of Finland laughing, who just pulls him closer and tells him that it’s okay, he doesn’t want Sweden to smile if he has to force it.
Softly
A calloused thumb ghosting softly over Finland’s cheek, wind-cracked lips impossibly gentle against his -- despite the severe look on Sweden’s face, he always touches him so tenderly.
Gleam
The gleam of Sweden’s glasses catch on the faint candle light in the room, “w’ll y’ br’k fr’m th’ un’on an’ c’m wi’ me…” Finland could feel the other’s hands shaking, so he cups them in his own and brings them to his cheek, hoping this would be enough of an answer for him.
Sharply
Finland muffles that sharp intake of breath -- he’s afraid Sweden would stop if he heard.
