Time Flies

It's been a month since I officially entered the 'Education Nationale' and began teaching and I'm already wiped out. Seriously, I've never been so tired in my life. We have a very heavy 'training course' to follow in addition to our regular teaching duties and they keep demanding things left and right. This year's a year of change apparently and ( Read more... )

I've been offline a lot too. Time's a commodity I wish I could get more of!

Life's been good on the whole. Hey, I get a paycheck at the end of each month now. What sucks is that although I'm now a teacher, my title can be revocated at the end of the school year if I don't pass the numerous tests they ask for when you're a new teacher. That's the reason everyone is getting close to a nervous breakdown. The demands this year are simply over the top.

Once I've finished this hellish first year I'll enter the 'system' for good, comes hell or high water. Of the 70 who were assigned to the Aquitaine region this year, probably 4 or 5 of us will either have to do that first year again or lose the benefit of their teaching degree. That sucks big donkey balls.

And how have you been yourself? Have you left Australia like you planned to?

Always nice to have a holiday! I'm saving money for next year too--and I'll have to give a good chunk of it away because of taxes too! drat. Have you found a place to live yet once you go away, or is it too early?

Good to hear from you! But sorry things are so stressful. It can be quite daunting to work through all that stuff. I hope it goes well and that you don't get completely burned out.

Thanks! I've been offline most of the time during the past 3 months and I haven't been able to check my F-list in ages.

The fall holidays are only 2 and a half weeks away so I'll get plenty of sleep then.

It is stressful but hopefully we'll make it. And I had a wonderful day today, even my Grade 8 students were sort of angelic. It makes up for all the rest.

I was half disappointed by 2007. I really, really got into paranormals but then half of them let me down anyway. I think my best discovery of 2007 was Laura Lee Guhrke, who I have come to enjoy.
I am looking forward to Nalini Singh. I keep trying to win ARCs but I never win anything!!! I did a reader interview on her blog tho ha haha :)
I gave up on Liz Carlyle! I was going to read her one, two, three series but it got such shit reviews! I got into Mary Balogh this year and have bought heaps of her books on sale. They start out with the sweetest moments but then there's a bit of a decline, so she's really a hit and miss for me completely.
I haven't read Gabriel's Ghost despite having it for half a year.
Elizabeth Hoyt is the serpent prince right?
