Wow, it does sound like your life is rather busy! I don't blame you for not lurking around LJ anymore.

Cody looks awesome. Your mom's new horse is gorgeous!

Beautiful pictures. Spoune is freakin' cute as a button! As screwy as it is that they clipped that design into his hair without asking, it sure is nifty!

Thanks! And the next two months will be even busier for me unfortunately. I'm really looking forward to the month of july when I'll be able to finally rest (in August I'll be busy moving to the other end of France hopefully)

Spoune is a cutie indeed. He's very small (just a bit taller than a shetland poney, only not as round) and very gentle. I wonder how long they took to clip that design on him! The owner was mostly concerned because Spoune lives outside 24/7 and she was afraid the rain and cold would be bad for him where he no loner had any hair to protect him from the elements.

I love your pictures. They are always so beautiful.:)

Good luck landing the position you want...I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

The buckskin for your mom...is that a different mare than the one you were concerned about a few months back, or the same one? She's very beautiful and I hope your mom enjoys her.

Thanks! I'm crossing my toes too actually, can't hurt. lol.

Savannah is indeed the same mare I posted about in Equestrian a few months back. I talked more with the vet and my mom really fell in love with her so she bought her. She seems very sweet. The owner of the barn she's staying at currently told me how gentle and well-mannered she was. When I see how well Cody's doing with his confirmed navicular, I'm not too concerned about Savannah's X-Rays. She's healthy, has nice wide feet with low heels and moves beautifully. We'll see how it goes....

The photos are lovely but that video is SO COOL. I love the part where Cody is lying down and you're scratching his neck. And of course, the "no hands!" part is very neat. Do you ride him with a bit or is that a hackamore sort of thing? He looks so loved. :)

Savannah is absolutely lovely.

How are you enjoying teaching, other than the moving bit?

Thanks! I probably spoil Cody too much lol!

I've stopped riding with a bit in September 2006 and I now ride with the Parelli natural hackamore (basically just a rope halter with reins). Cody really liked it, he handles very well with it both in the arena and out on the trails. It's also very convenient when I want to let him snack during a trail ride. I'm thinking of switching to a bosal in a little while. I like the look of bosals a lot/ I don't think I'll ever ride Cody with a bit again.

My mom's new mare is another story. We want to ride her with a halter also but she's used to the snaffle bit. So we're going to get acquainted with her with a snaffle since that's what she knows best and then we'll wean her of it in a few months.

Yay, Cody! I missed him (and you)! He's looking good as always. Savannah is beautiful, I hope she and your mother will make good friends.

Strange system you have, but good luck with your upcoming move, and in gathering enough points to get a say in where you want to be :)

I think your pictures look beautiful!!! The place you want to go to looks amazing, I hope you get to go. I have never really been around France except Paris and Avignon. And the station at Calais. (like that counts ;P) Someday I hope to drive around and check out the countryside and eat a lot.

Read any good books lately? I loved the Spymaster's Lady and I got into Lynsay Sands' Argeneau series cos it was funny but there appears to be a shortage of good books. I looked at the upcoming list of releases here: http://www.mybgarden.com/reldate.html and there are very few that I am looking forward to...

Its not so very good, but its funny! I laughed quite a bit. I would just suggest reading the first four in the series, the ones with Lucern, Etienne, Bastien and Lisianna. If you like anyone of those (my favorites were Etienne and Lisianna, while my cousin likes Lucern and Bastien's) then you can grab the rest of the relatives.
I will get Private Arrangement and let you know. I think I'll get Lisa Kleypas in ebook first! Grimspace was highly recommended to me and I haven't started Nalini Singh's latest cos I was travelling. I am looking forward to the next Kresley Coles and JR Ward. I've also decided to try Jennifer Ashley because I'm in the mood for funny and she's supposed to be funny.
I'm glad you got the post that you wanted!!!

There's an exclusive excerpt of Cole's June release on the blog The Good The Bad and The Unread. It's not her next book but the one after that (they're published back to back). It sounds quite good.

I tried several Jennifer Ashley but I never really could get into her. Except for one of her earlier books, Perils of the Heart, I never liked her other booksI'm very picky when it comes to writers of 'lighter' books. For exemple I don't like Julia Quinn at all although she's widely popular. IIRC Ashley writes both historicals and paranormals (and I'm not sure if she writes the latter under this name or under another pseudonym).

I'll see if I can get my hands on one of the Argeneau books then.

I'll be waiting for your opinion of Private Arrangements.
