I survived my first real winter. Snow! Ice on the roads! Snow! Snow! Snow! What a change from the south west of France! It was great. Riding in the snow had always been a dream of mine and that dream came true this past winter. Here's a taste of what it was like:

I'm curious about your video shooting...is your recorder a dedicated camcorder, or are you shooting in video mode on a digital stills camera? What kind? And when you take shots of you and Cody together, are you putting the camera on a tripod, or does someone shoot for you? Just curious. :)

How are you? Sorry for dropping form the face of the earth!
I take all my videos with my old Canon Powershot S3 IS camera. It has a video mode. I bought a dslr last november and I take pictures with that now. but I kept my old powershot to capture videos.
I have my eye on the new Canon dslr that will come out in a few weeks and that will include a HD video mode. Hopefully I'll be able to treat myself to it for christmas. It's a bother to juggle between 2 cameras.
In 99% of cases, I take my own shots. Most of the time I just find a convenient place to place the camera (tree trunk, branch, fence posts, ground....). For some of the shots in the snow I lugged around a plastic crate because there was nothing convenient. I don't usually do it but I knew what I was looking for and the pasture I took the video is actually only 5 minutes from the barn.
Sometimes I feel silly just going past the camera again and again and I start to laugh so I have to start all over again. lol!

A dslr with HD video mode. *whistles* sounds lovely. I bet the images will be fantastic. Hope you're able to treat yourself to that too. :)

How about you? What have you been doing? Still no trip to France planned?

Don't hesitate to contact me if you decide to visit my little corner of France then. June is a good month. September is great too if you can't make it in June. (July and August are full of tourists and the roads and sites are always crowed).

I found the perfect home for him when I moved last year and he always seems happy. He lives the life I always wanted for him. He loves playing with the other horses and grazing in the vast pastures.
I feel a bit guilty because I have almost 0 footage to make a video this year. I spent all my time with my DSLR and left the bridge with its video feature at home. I have to make up for it in the next few months.
