I don't know how one of the show's editors found me, but here's an interesting bit of information:
(SPOILER for the end of the previous episode):
@arrakisfilm: ... And the decision to end the episode back in front of the fireplace for Hannibal's final sip was not scripted.
@cleolinda: The show played me like a violin this week, I have to say. (How was it scripted originally?)
@arrakisfilm: It was to end on the attack on Miriam. After seeing how Mads and Laurence played it, going back to them made perfect sense.
@cleolinda: It really, really did. I'm fascinated by the mix of expressions there--"I'm truly sorry" and then looking... kind of pleased?
Like, savoring both the drink and the memory? Because maybe the brandy really was people seriously, he is the worst. It's fascinating to me that he seems to have these emotions that you'd think wouldn't even be able to exist side by side: "I feel sympathy that you lost your trainee, except for the part where I DID IT AND I'D DO IT AGAIN."
Also, regarding "I am so sorry I murderized your protégée, Jack, no really," y'all pointed out two significant lines:
" Amuse-Bouche": "Have you ever lost a pony, Jack?"
Silence of the Lambs: "Jack Crawford sent a trainee... to me?"
I will never hear that line the same way again and I love it.
"Often described as deer-like or bearing the head of a stag, the wendigo... is thought of variously as a malevolent cannibalistic spirit that could possess humans or a monster that humans could physically transform into." o_O
Normally I am wary of arts and crafts, but I found this hilarious in spite of myself.
And also I have a sore throat and am going to lie back down again, the end. *capeswoosh*
