Open discussion: Hannibal 2x05 "Mukozuke"

Mar 28, 2014 20:39

I'm making good time on "Takiawase"--it's just that " Hassun" ran (extra) late because of another project I had to do, so now this is also running late. At some point I'm going to get out from under the backlog, but today is not that day. However, some of y'all in the "Hassun" comments asked if we could have an open discussion thread for the episode ( Read more... )

Ok, I'm going to need the oddly specific knowledge that I'm sure somebody here can provide. Can you even saw a human body into pieces that way, frozen or otherwise? And how would you display cross-sections like that without them just falling apart? And I think the timeframe's meant to be that this was the next day, maybe the day after? Could you do that in a night and/or a night and a day?

I'm sure somebody here will admit to being able to answer these questions.

I watched them all because the Sunk Cost Fallacy is a cruel mistress. So many wasted years...

Also, does he just keep piles of human-sized plexiglass display cases lying around in his basement?

There's the terrifying implication that it's just something he'd always wanted to do with a body, so he was prepared... or that he'd been plotting the deaths of Team Science just in case things started going against him.

Murder wizards have to be prepared.

What if half is basement is full of odd things like that, that he's collected just in case he gets an opportunity for a truly artistic performance?

That's how my grandmother did her shopping; after she died, we found shelves and shelves full of things that were clearly intended to be presents for somebody at some time in the future, who knows when. Maybe Hannibal likes to do his murder-art shopping during sales.

Now I'm visualizing Hannibal murdering some artist whose artwork offended his own artistic sensibilities, looking through said artist's supplies for the most ironic display, and going, "No, no, these giant plexiglass body exhibit slides are too good for this one. I'll keep those for later."

My question is what the fuck kinds of cars does Hannibal have/steal to do transport?

I am suddenly overcome with the thought of Hannibal transporting all the slides of Bev on one of those trucks that carries plate-glass on external side-mounts.
