I posted the 3x04 "Aperitivo" recap this morning. It was about 90% drafted before the finale aired, so it is largely written without any hindsight, but if you would like to skip some apparently foreshadowy conjecture at the beginning, jump here.

However, if you have seen "The Wrath of the Lamb," I think you'll want to read it from the beginning.

What was the moment? I think I saw it all the first time, but I've seen so much giffed in slow motion on Tumblr that I can't be sure, lol.

The *really* interesting rumor that's circulating around the Chinese fandom, however, is that it's *not* Gillian Anderson's hand in that close-up grabbing that fork (which, by the way, was the type of fork that was the stand-in for the letter I in the super spoilery "Pure Imagination" trailer several weeks ago). I've rechecked myself and still can't figure out. :-\

Hmm - yup. I just re-watched it, and because of the distance of the shot, it still isn't super clear to me that she's hiding the fork. It could be that she's picking it up. Perhaps they shot it to be intentionally ambiguous? Although Bryan seemed startled that so many of us had read it the other way on first watch.

(Also, I happened to hit on the start of the credits, and how beautiful was that shot of the waves crashing with Siouxsie playing in the background?!)

As for Bedelia's Poker Face, might I suggest that it also has a lot to do with the tons of painkillers she has to be currently on? :)

I'd only ever heard one song of hers before this, and that was the song she and her band did for "Batman Returns" called "Face To Face". Folks, you really should listen to that and "Love Crime" back to back, they're so musically and thematically compatible, it's like they're long-lost sisters slash soulmates:

I kind of like the interpretation that Bedelia has cut her own leg off and prepared it because she's still that deeply under Hannibal's thrall - her anger and fear at Will when he tells her the plan to release Hannibal has as much to do with the fact that she knows if Hannibal IS free she's still just as much beholden to him as she was before he was apprehended. When she does her perfect mic drop back in Dolce, I think she can do so because she knows Hannibal is about to be caught. All her bravado after he's in custody only goes so far
