Im asking my LJ friends that watch Oprah (Dont even get me started about her) and saw her recent comments about how it is "acceptable in this economy to tip servers 10%" to remember that those servers have bills to pay too. More realistic? If you cant afford the normal %? Dont go out. Tip your servers as you always would. **Their bills didnt ( Read more... )

well... while I am Not a fan of hers either.. Im glad it isnt true. who knows how many oprah-ites would be shorting servers if it were.

While I don't subscribe to that ideal, tipping above 15% only came into being in the 1980s when the economy picked up.

bleh. that's ridiculous. we're good tippers. we really appreciate not having to cook our dinners when we go out and we really appreciate good servers :)
