Does anyone know if there are any places around Cleveland where you can be paid to donate plasma/blood?

. . . God, I feel horrible asking that.

There is a place on West 25th St. Come early -- I biked down there a few years ago when I needed some cash, and was too late to get in.

Awesome, thanks!

I'd rather donate donate instead of get paid to do it (it just seems wrong to me) -- but I kind of need whatever money I can get at the moment until I can find a job.

Look at it this way: the companies that run the plasma collection centers sell the products that they make from the plasma they take from you for FAR more than they pay you, so it is OK to get paid for it. Donating to the Red Cross is good, though.

I've tried to do the plasma thing twice, and it never worked out. I found that selling scrap metal actually paid more, and the only blood involved was when I would get cut on a sharp corner, lol. Takes a bit more work though.

Good Luck to you!

I've thought about doing this too, and that's the place my parents told me to go to. It's legit, been around for a long time. There's a website too. Good luck!

I'm weighing in extremely late on this as I've been traveling and haven't been reading so closely, but just wanted to say, there's no shame in selling your blood a little to make ends meet. I know a number of people in and around Cleveland who have resorted to this when necessary (and done a few other more "questionable" things as well) and several of them have become pretty well-respected folks about town. It's a tough world, do what you gotta do, and selling blood doesn't hurt anybody (assuming it's disease-free and screened) and probably even helps somebody. So don't feel bad.
