So, at the end of last week, I had a voicemail message from a woman in the literature department at UC Santa Cruz! She was just calling to let me know that I’d been admitted and they’re offering me a fellowship

Santa Cruz actually has an extensive, consistent, and overall user-friendly bus service, and driving onto campus means you'll have to park annoyingly far away (and downhill) from all of the academic buildings. Just FYI.
