Martha led both Lex and Jonathon to the table and started to make breakfast. While she worked she spoke, "I am glad that this is finally out in the open. Together we are a force to be reckoned with against any foe, father or otherwise. Jonathon has a strict moral code that is rarely compromised and the strength of character to back it up. Lex has business savy, an intimate working knowledge of how certain... people may react, and an essential ruthlessness when protecting what he deems is important. Clark has a direct way of looking at things unencumberred by preconcieved opinions and has his own unique strengths. I, if I do say so myself, bring a bit of 'old money' perspective a fair bit of business savvy, and a mothers point of view. When we are open with each other we prevent others from being able to use us against each other and prey on our weaknesses. Just as each of us brings a certain strength or skill to the equation, we also each have our weaknesses or blindspots and if we continue to hide so much of ourselves from ( ... )

Several sharp intakes of breath reminded the Luthor’s of the other people present, and ….. then in a wondering tone, Martha exclaims, "This Dominic seems to be playing both ends against the middle since he must have made the recording while he was here warning Lex to run before his father made unseemly accusations regarding Lex's presence in our home!"

Martha's knowing gaze caught both Lex and Lionel and they both started to rethink their dealings withDominic. Father and son turned towards each other... "seeems we may have a wolf among the sheep Father. We should sit and compare notes."

"So, Lionel... just what would do you like in your coffee?" asked Martha.

Surprised but doing his best to hide it Lionel answered...
