38th birthday, utter distaster. Very few people remembered, family included, to which I shouldn't complain, if I was a better person then surely people would remember. The lack of notice just proves that I'm generally unlikable. Oliver's card said it all. To Mum, from Oliver ( Read more... )

Is there not some way to compell Mike to contribute to your wellbeing? I'm guessing that you haven't taken any formal divorce type steps yet, but perhaps that's how it has to be, if he's not making the effort to be fair.

You gave up much of your life to be a good wife and look after Oliver, while his career advanced. Divorce settlements are there to recognise this.

Hugs from Rachel and I. I'm always available if you need to talk, even though we've not been close for some time.

Honey, I’m so sorry that you are so under the weather. I’m afraid I agree with haddion. You are ***entitled*** to an equal share of the assets you took an equal part in contributing towards during your relationship. You said it yourself: it was a partnership. It is really not about who earned the most salary, you were working too: bringing up a child, cooking, cleaning, managing a house. I think you ought to make an appointment with Citizens’ Advice - please think about it. It’s no wonder you’re down - you must be under so much pressure. I know I’ve no right to tell you what to do but I hate to see you being treated unfairly.

Oliver is just a little boy - of course he’s confused and is bound to be susceptible to a Daddy who can buy him anything he asks for. It doesn’t mean he loves you less. He doesn’t have an adult’s perspective on it yet. Big hugs x

Thanks everyone, I've been ever so low. Work hasn't improved, if anything its worsening, but I'm sticking it out, for now. Olly is slowly but surely coming round. Its a big change today, he's made friends at my house and today is the first day he's been excited about anything. I let him play out, at the end of the street, he's almost eleven, but it was nerve wracking, letting him go and do it alone without busy body Mummy being a bodyguard.

I did spy on him pretty much all the time though, peeking through the bedroom window. hehe..
