First, about the war in Iraq. We should have never gone to war with Iraq. The justification of threat from weapons of mass destruction was completely specious. There was very little evidence of WMD's in Iraq (at least the public reasons; I didn't see any classified evidence).

I guess every situation must have its upside. Here we have a perfect example with which to counter those who maintain that arbitrary secrecy and trust in our government will make America safe. (It has done the opposite on this occasion), And were it not for the egregiousness of the errors, and for the bloom of communication due to modern technology, we might not understand what had happened. Who knows what the history books would tell, without a bit of sunlight to dessicate the noxious mendacity of it all.
