fortunately, obsession is a more powerful driving force than pain aversion, apparently
Amen sista

i still just wonder "what if...."
I think it's the whatifs that make life more interesting. If you knew everytime what every option would lead to, life would get dull. Like riding rollercoasters instead of high speed chases. Uncertainty can suck ass, but sometimes the thrill rocks!

hmmmm... my opinions on what ifs vary with my mood. every now and again i will indulge in the what if fantasy.

most of the time i think that living life with even an ounce of regret is just a waste. and believe me, if i were the regretful type of person, i have a lot i could regret and fantasize what if about.

this day - this is all i get. why should i worry what if? it doesn't help where i am now, and all it could possibly do is make me sad for what has happened already and have no control over.

i'm not saying that i don't ever do it. i just hate it when i do, and keep it to a minimum in my life.

I don't see whatifs as necessarily being regret. I see them as wonder and mystery -- not regreting the decision you made, but curious about it's effect on your life. To me whatifs are more reflective than regretful.

Yes, I hate when I do the whole regret thing, or when I let the past stick around too long, or come back to haunt me.

Yesterday is a wrinkle on your forehead
Yesterday is a promise that you've broken
Don't close your eyes, don't close your eyes
This is your life and today is all you've got now
Yeah, and today is all you'll ever have

it really is funny how much cooler they become....i had the same thoughts as i watched my mom scale a wall at the gym and as my dad tried snowboarding last time he was out here. parents can be pretty damn awesome, but i agree....they get it from us somehow.
