The couple who lived upstairs and had two cats moved out a few weeks ago. We called them our "time-share" cats because they would spend time with us when the owners weren't around, then go back upstairs for food and litter-box stuff. All the benefits of cat ownership without the pesky maintenance

She told us when we met that she is all about forward communication. Seeing as how our schedules do not mesh, texting is the best. Funny how it took me a while to think of it. My first impulse is to knock on the door.

I text my next-door neighbor, too -- at least the one on the one side. I send FB messages to the one on the other side. I'm good with that.
