I've always thought that I had a lot to say, but now that I'm faced with this giant blank space, I'm filled with a bit of foreboding.  I swore some time ago that I would never indulge in creating a blog.  My reasons were varied and numerous.  Now that it comes to it, I'm not sure I can call too many of them to mind.  It makes me think of The

(Joan Didion)To me, this sums up exactly why I write, whether it is in a paper journal or online. It is my way of sorting out my thoughts, of finding what I do think, and trying to figure out what it all means. And if I write online, then I can get the feedback of others, if they choose to give it. It's a non-assertive way of looking for other's opinions, assurance, or help. You don't have to ask someone what they think, if they want you to know they will tell you. This is what I feel to be the greatest advantage of livejournal
