Petitions for Justice

Here is a national petition you can sign to encourage senators to question John Roberts thoroughly on his views of women's rights and Roe v. Wade.

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I strongly urge you to ask John Roberts tough questions about his beliefs concerning constitutional protections for privacy, health, and safety during the confirmation hearings. With two vacancies on the Supreme Court, our nation is at a critical juncture. Lifetime appointments of two justices to the Supreme Court require a thoughtful, intelligent, and fully deliberated confirmation process -- the Senate owes the American public nothing less. The stakes are too high to rush the process.

The U.S. Supreme Court has consistently ruled that no abortion regulation can endanger a woman's health and safety. It would be a grave mistake to appoint a nominee who is not committed to upholding these precedents.

Please ask, and require answers to, questions about Roberts' views on the constitutional protections for privacy, health, and safety. The American people deserve a thorough debate before a justice, especially a chief justice, is confirmed to a lifetime appointment on our nation's highest court.

...not that I have too much faith that it will make a big difference, but hey, it can't hurt to try.
