HOLY FUCK that is gorgeous. The picture belongs in a biology text book. I had to swear with intensity to express my awe with your photography. FUCKING GORGEOUS. Yes, that is definitely a ninja dragonfly. (LJ ate my last comment, hope that this one gets through)

It's a damselfly. They put their wings back like butterflies do. Dragonflies leave their wings flat. They can't fold them back.

Looks like an Ebony Jewelwing. I got a photo of one of these recently too, on vacation in Virginia.
