This dream may have changed my life.

Flynn Jones and I have been our own bosses at our Experimental and Mysterious Courier Services which we called Hangman Inc. We were scheduled to show up in the Middle of No Where, Georgia, and immediately headed out into the lush green forests and swampy back roads, where we came upon a cottage. ( Read more... )

I knew you'd like it. There was some thread of familiarity throughout this entire entry that I couldn't quite place until you mentioned The Filth. I didn't notice any direct borrowing from it, but the overall feel is dead on.

Demo was OK, by the way. Not quite as good as I'd hoped except on the poignancy scale. It felt like a webcomic to be honest ... a really good one, but still a webcomic. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but ... well, as a body of work it didn't quite stand on its own quite as well as something like The Filth (or Watchmen or any number of other, more self-contained graphic novels). It was really loose and a few stories felt incomplete, which again is fine, but doesn't carry the same impact as one of the aforementioned alternative examples.

Also, I really like how your dream had foreshadowing that didn't even come from your own perspective. FLYNN noticed the girl's teeth, not you. Were you observing yourself third-person style, or did you just Know Things?

Also, I just ordered a large quantity of Dream Herb (Calea Zacatechichi) so you might want to get used to dreams of this level of intensity.

I would love to get used to that level of intensity. I also like the series of incongruencies, like, why were some of the kids older if they all hatched at the same time? Why would the amazons replicate a minor pharmecueticals outlet? It was more of a third person perspective sort of thing.
