I heard a radio reporter say that Al Franken should be seated in the Senate by sometime in June, and that we should then be able to expect universal healthcare by September or so. The reporter was joking of course, but I have to admit, I will be disappointed unless these kinds of sweeping changes actually materialize (especially in the case of healthcare).
yeah... IF swine flu or something worse bites the us in a potent way this winter, how well will the argument against universal health coverage hold up when all of the out of work, un/under insured sick people in need of care are factored into the conversation? not too well.
