(Mostly) Unemployed

I did not get the summer job I applied for last week. And while I would have loved working in the same building as three of my old classmates, from the sounds of it the job itself would have been quite tedious. (Plus the commute would have been a lot longer than I am used to.)

So I am not as sad as I expected to be.

I have been asked to work extra ( Read more... )

I envy you the break. it sounds lovely. even if it isn't by choice. sometimes a break is just what a person needs to reflect on what matters and to get a pure answer to what they want to do next.

Next is probably going to be more of the same. Work work work.

I am doubtful if I will find another job as good as the one I have had for the last few years. I fell into this entirely by luck (and I owe it all to E.K.) and I am not sure if that can happen again. I will probably end up on-call and working evenings and weekends. Sigh.

I am determined to use this time off to good effort though. T and I plan to move within the next few months so I should start organizing our stuff for that.

Actually it is mostly UNemployed, there are only 3 days of work left for me here.

We are going to eventually move closer to Abbotsford to reduce commute times for T.

Hey, the time off is worth it. You work hard most of your life...take it easy.

Glad you're not that upset. Keep cool this summer

I fully intend to take it easy... for a few days, until I am bored out of my tree. :)

Better jobs will come along soon, there always seem to be postings around fall for libtechs.

Keeping cool might be a bit of an effort, my house gets really hot in summer.

I know how you feel. :( I have been waiting to hear about a job for quite awhile (their process is really slow), it can be so stressful. I'm glad you get a break!

I hope you hear soon!

I hope I can relax during the break instead of worrying about not having a job.
