Going to a midnight showing was the best decision ever. The Avengers.

So, I've forever had a love/hate relationships with comic books. Too expensive in my opinion (I am cheap), but something I've always been curious about (okay, so when I get my mitts on them, well, I get careful and in love), and thus it has taken form into loving all the comic movies! Except The Dark Knight, that shit was boring. I know that there is a division in the world of movie loving on The Dark Knight, but I still can't seem to see what is so great about it. It was decent in my opinion.

Anyway~ Yesterday, for the midnight viewing of The Avengers, I dragged off two co-workers (one I had gone to War Horse with (two Hiddleston movies) and the other I forgot had a really loud laugh...), one friend of a co-worker (and fellow Firefly fan), and my sister (who was clearly getting tired during the movie and thus I believe only normal viewing times for her from now on, but then again, it's a shock she even came, and I don't know if it is exactly her cup of tea, but now she wants to try and go again, so...). I do wish the others had done their research before the movie though. If you want a synopsis, look it up yourself. I stayed as far away from that kind of stuff as I could.

I will also note I do not understand and have quite the dislike for the phrase "the only person I could ever imagine in this role", especially when they're the only one who has played it! Just, who else would you imagine anyway? Now, if you can compare and contrast, that's an entirely different story, which brings me to this point, I have yet to see The Incredible Hulk, so I cannot compare and contrast, where as, if we're talking about Batman, I'd tell you right away my favourite movie Batman is Michael Keaton, but I love Batman Forever for Robin.

So, so, this movie is fabulous, I just cannot. A flawless cast in character and in interview, a flawless writer/director (lies, he's plenty flawed, but I have a fondness for most of his work, so he gets a pass, and I haven't seen most of Dollhouse or Angel yet, so I can't quite comment, but have you seen Firefly?), it was just all around amazing. There were some marks of Whedon, and anyone familiar with his work will be able to point them out, and it was clearly made ever so lovingly, I just cannot with this movie. The humour was natural, and didn't take over the movie, but more seemed the kind of humour that would occur when you get these people together, and that was all kinds of beautiful. It helps that Whedon is good at multiple character casts.

So... Character death... Before the movie there was buzz about a character that will die among the Whedon fans, and I noticed it, and decided to try and avoid it at all costs, but ended up figuring out who it would be before the movie started, but my gosh, my heart! MY HEART! THE TEARS THAT I HAD TO FORCE MYSELF TO HOLD BACK SO I DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE OFF MY GLASSES AND MISS THINGS FROM WIPING MY EYES! COULSON! WHY!? I MEAN, IT WAS JUST SO SAD! ;A; ALL THE EMOTIONS! I loved his on his call to Black Widow, and his fanboying of Captain America, he was just, ugh, so cute, and I love him. WHY!? I do enjoy entertaining the idea that his not dead, but... ;A;

So, Natasha Romanoff and Clint Barton are perfect, and adorable, and great even without having any superpowers. You don't need to have powers or cool toys to be super. Ugh, I just, I loved them both so much! Sadly, I wish I had more to say about them right now, but their beauty refuses to be words for me. Together though, they are adorable, and my gosh, look at them going and being awesome despite everything. Just, badass all around.

Tony Stark. What can one say about Tony Stark that Tony Stark hasn't already said about himself? Ahaha, I love him in this movie though, but then again, I also love the two Iron Man movies as well. He's just such a fun character, and a loveable jerk at that. It took me forever to realise he wore a Black Sabbath shirt the whole time though, I mean, I seriously did not get it until the next day, but I may have been really into the movie to not care much at all. On reflection though, I find it hilarious, so whatever~ I also have a fondness for Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osborne in general, music wise, even if I don't exactly actively search it out. Lazy~ RDJ is perfect, just to note.

Thor. Thor, I love the way you speak, oh my gosh, it's just, ugh, please just talk like that, and you always will as a character, and I'll just be over here, listening to the pretty voice, and look at you, being awesome, fighting in an awesome way, and not getting human jokes. Oh, the human jokes. ♥ Also, arms, just saying. Very nicely shaped arms... :Db Thor is my favourite prior to the meet and greet movie, just to note, though Iron Man comes in as a very close second.

Steve Rogers. Adorable. So fucking adorable in this movie, being shocked at the world, and losing a bet. Getting a reference and being so proud, and when he's in his battle element, so awesome. ;A; Captain America; The First Avenger wasn't my favourite movie, though I still absolutely adored it, and I liked how it handled trying to fit a large passage of time in such a short time, but in this movie he is fucking adorable, I cannot with him. ♥ When he got the reference though, his face! HIS FACE!

Bruce Banner was amazing, and now I need to see The Incredible Hulk. Oh my, I don't even care that it's not the same person, and I probably won't compare and contrast, as they're from the same universe, and I understand it was negotiation issues that caused this, but I am so excited for more Ruffalo Hulk, so whatever~ SUCH A PERFECT JOB OF THIS CHARACTER WHO CAN BE KIND OF BORING! OH MY GOSH! Also, also! The Tony and Bruce moments were awesome, and they are so buddies, I just, so perfect these two together. I had a moment.

And, for the last... LOKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII! Fucking Loki and his perfect, and his requiring a hug. Oh my, I just, why are you so awesome, and I know my love of Loki is insane in a way, but he is truly my favourite character, and I want more Loki being awesome, and Loki being an ass, and his face, and just, Loki. Fun fact, they showed a Hiddleston interview before the movie started at my theatre. I don't know about any other theatres, but, yeah, the actor has nothing to do with my Loki love, unless you are talking about how fucking awesome he was in his role, with his facial expressions of emotion, and the lack of just being a ragey villain, I don't like it when villains are all rage, which happens, though this whole series has done so well with villains in general, so I have no one to really complain about here, but such a good character and good villain. (So, I happen to really love villains.) ALSO! HIS FACE AFTER BEING TOSSED AROUND BY THE HULK, I JUST, OH MY, HIS FACE! HIS FACE! I also really liked the bit where he was getting an eye for Clint, just, all the costumes and being so classy in his suit (I had the same reaction in Thor), while being so very, very not good. ♥ I do love Hiddleston as an actor though, now that I've seen him in a few things (like War Horse, and his face in that movie, and all the tears just from his face when his character dies, and I cannot, just, fucking perfect actor). I do wish I was better at expressing my Loki love though, even though I blame Hiddleston and his acting completely. So good. ;A; Oh god, I love how everything Loki is really just word vomit. I apologise that is section is really just me basically yelling "LOKIIIIIIII", because that's about all my head wants to say. The character though, for some strange reason I'm really sympathetic towards him. More than I ever thought I would, and he's grown by this movie, and you can tell, which makes it even better. His reaction to Thor's mention in the drink offering scene was just perfection, and I just, ugh, so much love.

So, to wrap the character bit up... THIS CAST IS FUCKING PERFECT AND I WOULD NOT HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!

I was going to compile a list of my favourite moments, but then I realised it was the entire movie, so... I'll just leave it there. Plus, I need sleep. :l

As this was my first midnight viewing ever, I must say, I rather enjoyed myself, being in a cheering crowd, and it was just an amazing atmosphere. I may have to make a habit of this. Definitely my most favourite atmosphere ever, though I do wonder if I'll drag people along again. I've never been this excited for a movie before, so I jumped on the chance of seeing the first viewing possible in town.

I WANT TO WATCH THIS MOVIE AGAIN! SERIOUSLY! I LOVED IT!
