Has there been any press about this? I'd love to see some arty banter about the ethics of it. Agreed on the art installation thing--that would have been the perfect context for whatever they were trying to prove.

I really can't track down much. Nothing about the show on Wednesday in Miami, either. I did find a review of some big festival in England that they were supposed to play a few months back, though. They had issues with their keyboards (samples/programs got deleted, or something) and couldn't fix them before their set time. As if that would have really mattered!

Also, all the photos on Flickr that I can find of them "playing live" show his hand fluttering in the air, just like last night.

Their two sets here recently were similar. They played in a club in February and it went down rather poorly because like you say, it just isn't suited to that environment.

They did have a total fail at Bloc Weekend (the festival in March referred to earlier). But the rest of it was great ;)

I did however hear them play in the early evening during another festival in April (Bangface Weekender), and that went down really well. It was much more appropriate to the time and space (haha).

Was Bloc Party the event that they had "issues with their keyboards" any couldn't perform at all? That may be the one I read about.

I must go to Bangface before I die. It is written.

Yes Bloc Weekend is one of the 3 day festivals, it's frankly the highlight of my party year. I think it's the same one you read about--I was um passed out with a hangover when they were due to play and wasn't going to make it regardless so um, yeah.

You would love Bangface. They do a monthly party in a grim converted warehouse type place where they also do paintball, in London, and a 3 day weekender festival in April. They are also doing a 24 hour party on the grounds of a manor house in August this year. Hilarious. You would love it, from its airhons down to its white cotton gloves.

Grounds of a manor house? haha.. Do they have a lineup for the August party? Not like I can make it, but still...

Well, the picture you took is great.

But I feel like you are unfairly maligning the fine cleaning implement, the sham-wow with the comparison. ;)
