I like this story, that it shows the depth of their friendship, but...

"...McCoy barking out orders in his Southern drawl that should be lazy considering all the Southerners that Christopher’s ever met, but just isn’t."

Hey! (she says with her good-natured Southern drawl) What the heck kinda Southerners has Pike met? Clearly someone talked him into a UT football game and he was traumatized. I've half a mind to rectify his bias.

I might consider being ever so slightly offended.

I'm kidding, of course. I did rather enjoy Pike's POV and thank you for the story. Do write more.

Obviously he hasn't met all Southerners. Although, I like a good Southern drawl myself, lazy or otherwise. UT football games could traumatize anyone.

There are not nearly enough from his POV. I want there to be so many more. I guess that's why I wrote one.

Thanks for reading, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I love this story. Pike is awesome I really like reading about the Enterprise's new [future] crew from his point of view.

Kirk and McCoy are adorable.

I know, right, there should be so many more fics. There might be, but I've read like three lovely ones for Kirk/McCoy and there should be more.

They are adorable. I sort of just want to smoosh their faces together.

Thanks for reading, I'm glad you liked it.

I've just read this like... five times. I can't help myself. Every time I get to the end, there's a part of me that is dying to go back and skim the Kirk/Bones stuff (the hair petting, the cheek cupping, the looks, etc) and then I simply wind up rereading the entire thing again.

But, wow! You've managed to tap into that illusive, "OMG THEY'RE SO IN LOVE, WHY WON'T THEY JUST ADMIT IT TO THEMSELVES AND KISS" vibe of which Austen was queen. It made me want to shake them and then reread it even more closely to extract those hints of the truth.

It's there. Pike sees it, I'm almost positive (especially around the part where McCoy claims to simply be Jim's friend). Will there be more? I hope there will be, or I'll just have to keep up this never ending loop... you've gotten me to the point where Emma is jealous of Harriet, but not quite certain as to why and it's KILLING ME!!! ^__________~

Oh my. Thank you. That is like the best compliment ever in the history of like ever.

My first draft of this had things a lot less obvious and then I was like but I want the hair petting and the cheek cupping and then I wrote it and I was like yeah, there's no going back now. I think it works because in the movie, they're kind of totally okay with being in each other's space and what not.

I wasn't planning on it. I mean I was planning on writing more fic, but not necessarily as a follow up to this one. Of course, my idea to do at least one fic from everyone's POV about them could be an interlinking series? Maybe. I don't know. I'm easily manipulated into these things.
