I read the article before I read your post, and I honestly came back with the exact same thing you're talking about.

I LOVED Stargate Atlantis so much that I started going to conventions and being ridiculous all over it. And even then I didn't stick with Atlantis to the way bitter end. I couldn't because why the hell would I subject myself to a show when I dislike it so much.

He's trying to put blame on an external source because his show is failing. Too bad, so sad. I have to be honest, I haven't watched an entire episode of SGU, but my reasoning is: if I didn't like the last bit of Stargate: Atlantis, and SGU is an extension on a show I was falling out of love with, then WHY would I watch it? Don't try to point the finger at me because I don't want to, Brad Wright. I tried, but I couldn't even watch the first episode!

He needs to take his head out of his ass and own up to the fact that the show is on the outs because its just not good.

I had to post this before I read the comments because I knew I might be stealing from other people :)

I had to sit through a few before I could be an informed mocker. That and my friend Mister Gabe kept saying I should give it a shot. So I did. And it was bad. It wasn't anything like Stargate and, really, its only Stargate in name like everyone has been saying. But your reasoning is valid too. I couldn't watch the stupid Ronon/Keller/Rodeny triangle of doom. I wanted to watch the Daniel episodes, but I felt I had to get the rest in and I just couldn't stomach watching that stupid episode. I think I might download Vegas just to see how brilliant JFlan is, but I didn't even recognize the show anymore. Why would I got further down that road.

I don't blame SGU for SGA being canceled. I blame the stupid producers/writers. They decided not to care and they decided to jump ship. It's not a good show and I gave it a conservative two seasons when it first started. Guess I was right.

Oh god, avoid Vegas. It was really, really dumb. At least what I remember. I still watch CSI only because I need at least one crime show {and honestly, I'm not even taking it seriously any more}, and Vegas was CLEARLY a complete rip of CSI and CSI: Miami. Not an homage, a rip. It was just...awful.

As for the Ronon/Keller/Rodney triangle? I kind of hated it. Besides the SHIT they gave Paul McGillion, that was the other reason I stopped watching it. I wasn't in it for the soap opera moments, I wanted the actual action. Then it started getting stupid and bad. *sighs* I still love the first two seasons.

I had to stop watching CSI. I flipped a coin until it landed on not CSI and decided to stick with SVU because it's lolzy and there are lawyers. CSI turned out to be all about Ray and not enough about Greg and everyone else. And they marginalized Catherine. But that is a rant for another day. I hear the plot wasn't as good as it could have been, but the acting was really great. I've watched worse for actors.

Oh the McGillion snafu. Like I don't even want to think about what the did to the fans with that. Or the actor. It was ten kinds of bad. But I didn't sign up for a soap opera in space either. I just... didn't.

As a member of that site, I have to say most people on there went there because GW stopped allowing any type of negative post about sgu. So where could you discuss such things as the post above? not at GW or the syfy forum both attempts were closed and deleted ( ... )
