WHEDON CON!!!: Day One.

Nov 06, 2010 23:04

My official rundown of one of the most epic days to have ever epic'ed. And, also, this isn't strictly Whedon as I had to go see Joe Flanigan after that article yesterday. I was not disappointed. My pictures came out kick ass too.

My first two pictures came out with Joe looking like a normal colored human being because of all the flashes. The lighting in the rooms at the convention sucks so hard.

He told a lot of stories about his bee keeping and how he wants to be a tycoon and he was on a boat (I'M ON A BOAT!) and I guess it was Paul Allen's ( I have no idea who that is) boat. It was Halloween and they served the kids a shit ton of candy and kept refilling his champagne, which must have kept Joe in HEAVEN because the man likes to get his drink on.

He talked a crap ton of smack on Brad Wright and The Douche et al. I was expecting him to. The man cannot keep quiet about it. He really despises what they did to his show and the franchise. He said their arrogance and ego is what ruined the franchise, though he never really stated who he was talking about. We all knew though.

I don't remember what the story was behind this, but I love the picture. He's got a new show about him being an air force pilot and he and his jet setting wife inherit these kids and then they gotta take care of them. It's apparently gonna be on Fox, which we all know is usually a bad life plan, but I'll tune in. It starts in January.

Somebody asked about why The Douche (Joe M for those who don't remember that The Douche is my super special nickname for him.) doesn't like him. Joe was like what? And they were like he kind of talks smack about you on his blog. And Joe was like 'oh well, I don't know what I did, but I don't hate him. Hate like that takes a lot of work and I just don't have the time. I'm lazy.'

There were a few other things too. The skateboard came up again. Also, he and Torri, while politically dissimilar, were the same in a lot of ways. And he loved hearing Torri's conspiracy theories, though he doesn't think the government has that kind of competency. He called George Bush the stupidest man in the world. He's kind of a a bad Republican. Also, some companies tried to get him to sell shit on his twitter and he was like I'm not down with the man and selling things. He wants his twitter to be about the ridiculousness and outrageousness. He and Misha Collins are a lot a like that way.

And, my favorite story of the day, he was talking about which episodes or moments stuck out the most for him in the series and he said Vegas because it gave them so much to do. He loved that it was the very last thing they filmed because the actual very last thing they filmed was weird. He thought it didn't make sense. And he was thrown that all of a sudden there was the Golden Gate Bridge. And everyone had a girlfriend. But Sheppard didn't so he thought maybe the writers were trying to tell him something. Because Sheppard was girlfriend-less. And they were in San Fran.

ETA!!!!: I forgot to talk about how The Flan kept bringing up Hewlett. Like the first couple of times I was sort of life hey, they really are friends, but he talked about how he missed doing the panels with Hewlett because he's been doing them with Hewlett the last couple of times now. He also said that Hewlett's a true artist and was way committed to the role of Rodney. Oh and his phone rang during the convention and he said it was probably Hewlett. It wasn't, but it was kind of adorable. And then he also mentioned how Hewlett's moving down to Santa Monica and gave a fake address and that his movie in Ireland would be way cooler than David's snow monkey movie which apparently had no snow or monkeys.

I skipped out before the end of Joe because I wanted to see at least half of Nicholas Brendon's panel. I got in there and they were talking about rape. No, seriously. Apparently he played a rapist on Private Practice? I think anyway. Rape and daddy issues kept coming up throughout the panel.

My pictures in this room came out even better. The rooms are so small and it's so great.

*This one is my favorite.

He said that the best relationship Xander had was with Eliza because she was there and he didn't want to get in trouble. He also said that he kind of knew that Xander was going to leave Anya at the alter before it happened, which is slightly weird because I know I didn't really see it coming. Not before the episode anyway. He said it's possible that Anya and Xander could have ended up together, but he doesn't regret any directions that Joss took the show. He said syphilis is coming back (this makes no sense without the context of the story, but it was basically how the popular girl who makes fun of the dork always ends up with an STD, especially if she's from Long Beach).

He did the Snoopy Dance. It was epic.

Then. Then there was Eliza Dushku.

*Despite how dark this is, this is my favorite picture.

Honestly, I can't remember most of what Eliza said. I was to enamored with the pretty. She did talk a little about how the Alpha storyline would be interesting to do as a spin off because there's a lot of time in those ten years when he changes his tune. She also talked about how amazing her mom is and what they did in Uganda which is seriously awe inspiring.

I bought the duo her and Nicholas Brendon photo op and they allowed for Miracle to be in it to which is so awesome. I don't get my photo op until tomorrow.
