The olden days were actually quite colorful, what with the advent of synthetic dyestuffs and paint pigments- why else would the 1890's have been referred to as "The Mauve Decade"? Soliders wore bright red, blue, and even green uniforms with shiny brass buttons! Churches most often had stained glass! And if a machine was important enough to build, it was often important enough to have people constantly shining it! Ever seen a real Tiffany lamp in its glorious blaze of color? Look at the prints from that time with their jewel-like tones- there were even some household product labels of the era made with full color lithographs using 10 or more plates to print, stuff comparable to today's computerized work and often better. To fall into the trap of thinking only in tones of rust, sepia, black and white for the whole "steampunk" thing is nothing less than a stereotype, a TRAP. A lot of the real Victorians were people who believed in Progress with a capital P, and that meant bright, colorful, and clean things- not spiderwebs, decay, and ( ... )

Ahh, what a great comment, I bask in your eloquence. You are of course, correct - it was an age of colour. Perhaps I should have phrased it a little differently - my manga theme is sort of a bit surreal, and not particularly steampunk-historical. Hopefully it won't matter though. Anyway, I will be flying my freak flag high in August (here's hoping the prints look good). Thanks!

I am impressed! Blog advice posted here is surely my friend. I neutral after to hint safeguard up with comments and nobility work. IE browser bookmarks to your blog just with it, I l light on finance to regard my friends more in the future! The color of the layout is not spoiled, it is elementary on the eyes.
