So, there was a vintage motorcycle/scooter show downtown, today (Along with all the other things going on downtown). Of course, I was there! However, I had predicted that it was going to be basically myself, the guy setting up the show, his wife, and maybe two guys on modern bikes... Plus 50 motorcycles.
But, how wrong was I! The guy's son came along, too. I was slightly disappointed, and somewhat surprised that I was the only one representing Vespa there (The guy running the show had a bunch of really old American and German scooters), but it was still neat to go.
There's the Stella! Looking good, as usual.
The lineup of other bikes. Three Zundapp Bellas, a Cushman, and a Mitsubishi Silver Pigeon... All belonging to the guy running the show. Then, a Kymco Agility and Suzuki Burgman for the two modern things. I have more pictures of the individual bikes, but it's not really worth showing here, I guess. I was a little disappointed!
An awesome, fully-custom 1971 Triumph Trident. The only bike really worth looking at, at the show. The rest were all dirtbikes and Harleys, not really anything I was interested in. For being built by someone who's probably never heard the term "Steampunk", the thing was pretty sweet, with all the brass and natural leather. I also liked the "Glass Doorknob" on the shifter (You can see it between the gas tank and the handlebar).
Another bike I liked. An original Royal Enfield from the 1950's. I like the fender license plate on the front, and the pipe that you can't see on the other side.
And, hey! Who's that guy?!
But, that was my excitement for today. Everyone liked the spare tire, for some reason, and asked if I rode up from Florida. But, I guess my hopes of finding a crew to go riding around with are out the window, as there's only maybe three to five other riders around here. Oh, well. Maybe I can convert some folks.
Oh, and you guys will have to tell me if the pictures are too big (Or small). On the EEE PC (800 x 480?!), I can't really tell what they might look like on a real monitor.
