I live just north of Golden, in the 'Fairmount Fire-Protection District' (Jefferson County). We're like a little cluster of horse properties, mansions, farms, newish condos, and 1970's ranch homes that all seem out of place in the context of the others. So, the rescue is a historic property across from a subdivision, backing to a hay farm, and closed in on both sides by mansions. It's a great little spot- funky and very fitting for our little 'district'- and they work hard to let people interact with the horses when they volunteer- which is a real feat since a lot of the horses are very, very skittish or otherwise not easy to handle, and a lot of the volunteers have absolutly no horse experience. Anyhow, it's a great spot, and I would reccomend it as a place to volunteer to anyone who had horse experience and wanted to help in a real hands-on way.

I love you :-) I miss you! but I'm glad you didn't come to make danishes, because I ended up setting them aflame (accidentally) and it would have been even more tragic if you had helped make them all!!!! At least I can say I got to eat the last two batches!
next time we'll be more careful... :-)
