I tend to play it close to the chest, but I'm in new waters here so I really appreciate the offer. It looks like they got all of the cancer out with the lumpectomy but double mastectomy is still on the table (given our *stellar* family history).
She's generally feeling barfy, wiped, and pissed that her port is right where her bra strap sits. She didn't appreciate my suggestion she ditch the bra and go full muumuu. The burka idea kinda flopped too... (even thought that would have solved the whole need for a wig too).
*nod* I know that my mother just quit wearing bras on the days she had to carry the Bottle Of Goo hooked up to her shunt, but - in her case - she said it was bearable most other days.
My husband hates it. On one side, he's got the stoma from the colostomy, so no sleeping on *that* side, and on the other, he's got his chemo port, so...
And this is a man who loves sleeping on his stomach, poor guy...
Thanks so much. Early signs all look good - early detection, successful surgery, no spreading detected. It's just the whole chemo ordeal that going to put her through the wringer.
So far, so good - well, as good as chemo gets. The cancer's getting the rope-a-dope for sure, but Mom's getting a bit hammered in the process as well. So the good thoughts are appreciated and channelled appropriately :)

(My family and I share an...odd sense of humour).

I'm so sorry. I hope she gets through it as easily as possible, with only one round needed.
