While I'm at it.

So, I read the Fifty Shades Trilogy. And it pisses me off so much because they are so, so poorly written. The dialogue is stilted and repetitive, the characters shallow, the "oh so risqué" sex scenes are really quite vanilla (and yet they encompass a genuinely overbearing and obnoxious space of the book, to the extent that I ( Read more... )

Isn't the author British, or the books set in Britain, or something? Aren't the British stereotyped as being the most vanilla lovers ever?

Those books are way down on my "to read" list, but after you and others have written about them, they're going the way of Twilight. Life is too short for bad books.

Careful... a friend of mine thought something similar, and now she has three books out. ;) (Independent, e-books only, but still high on the Amazon charts.)
