I know nothing about the game, but as a piece of horror writing it is excellent.

Xaselm comprises four levels crammed full of chambers of horrors, plus Relyma's research notes. One of them is just called the Corpse Pit. It is pretty spectacular, even for a ruin in the Shivering Isles (the domain of the Madgod Sheogorath, a Daedric Prince prone to using people's intestines as a skipping rope, or so he says). I thought "One more step along the main quest and then I'll finally go and get dinner!" -- and regretted it. *shudder*

I feel better about this piece when you label it horror. I'm glad it works as that - thank you! It sort of turned up in my head as I moved through this horrible place. Ick, ick, ick.
