Thank you! It actually sent me back to reread the story I used the Lay to write, and now suddenly I feel impelled to write Tolkien fic again... and since I started playing with GIMP because I saw the suggestion it was one way to break writer's block, I guess it worked.

Nice. I think I like the first version better. The straight edge of the white is a bit distracting.

Thank you! I see what you mean, at this resolution the first one does work better. The eye focuses more on the text than the borders.

These are both very nice. I like the first one a smidgen better, because the print is bigger, and the frame seems to be a more pleasing proportion. For my tastes, anyway.

Thank you! At this resolution, I think you're right: it's slightly too small for more complicated things to work very well. (I relearned an important lesson about not accidentally saving things as JPEGs while doing this, because it flattened all the layers and that makes it much harder to play around with text and so on afterwards...)
