A woman at the bank where I was working was a salesperson and heavily pushing it on all of us for a Christmas gift. Everyday she'd come by and say, "Don't you want to get your wife a Longaberger basket?"
Finally, surrounded by coworkers who were all being strong-armed along with me, I said, "No, I'm getting her an electric ice cream maker." All the coworkers oohed and aahed and agreed it was a much better gift. Including the Longaberger salesperson.
And we never went back to the basket-shaped office building in the woods again. The end.
They aren't for me. We were discussing them at work the other day, and one of my coworkers had never heard of them. I wanted to see if there was a correlation with living in the Midwest.
