Buy the swords, I hope your roomie is butch enough to both know how to use them and to keep you challenged. Sword fighting can be a great hobby. It is highly enjoyable and lets off steam.

Mmmm... I am assuming you want something active. Have you ever tried a form of karate? Yoga or Pilates would be soothing. Perhaps busy work... beading jewelry, sewing, knitting, or crocheting? How about art? Drawing, painting, stained glass?

I hope I can think of something better.....
