Why I may be forced to become a Crazy Cat Lady

I turned 26 on my last birthday, which means I'm officially now closer to 30 than 20. This also means that the majority of my friends, with whom I spent the bulk of my early twenties clubbing, going to shows, partying, and just generally being as loud and obnoxious as humanly possible, are settling down, getting married and having babies. Yay for redundant methods of birth control. I am a fan. Also, I feel you on the twenty six thing. Since twenty five I've found myself dreading where my life is going.

I have a better plan of what the next two years of my life is going to be now than I ever have, and I'm more anxious about my future than I've ever been. I miss being nineteen and not giving a fuck about anything past the next concert.

I sent you a friend request like a month ago on Facebook. I don't think you accepted.
Also: at least you can parlay military service into a lifelong career. I could do that with my job, too, but I don't want to retire from Big Lots. It's not a career for me, just a job.

Oh, and the backup birth control thing? I'm not, like, a revolutionary or anything. I just paid attention in 8th grade health class.

I KNOW! My first gf didn't understand that preejaculate can cause pregnancies. How did she miss that? Was anyone besides me paying attention?

I will be 30 next year and I feel the same pressure you are feeling. I found the guy and now everyone asks when we are getting married. I'm not in a rush and I dont want kids so what is wrong with just being a couple. I hope you enjoy your cats. I stand behind your not wanting kids, I dont want them either.

Exactly! It's like, when you're 21, you can be in a committed relationship and have that be it, and nobody pushes you for a further level of commitment (sp?) because you're still pretty young. But once you're of a certain age, there's pressure to get married and start a family...and I think it's more pressure for us since we're chicks.
