Another day in The City

Apr 17, 2008 19:42

Today's fun in The City involved tracking down a Crocs outlet (we followed Seanan's directions and were told she was washing her hands of me if I failed to find the place. We found it easily but did consider 'phoning her to say we were lost and could she talk us through the details again....{g})

BASFA meeting is at a restaurant, a serviceable Coco's. Go for the company, stay for the... company (but eat anyway, it's not bad, just not great). We'll be there too.

{g} Since I'm not eating at all, at the moment, the company is what I'm going for, period.

If you are going to Stone Mountain and Daughter, you might want to head down the same street (in the southerly direction) to the BART station and go to Lacis, especially their lace museum. Then again, if you are taking the BART, you will pass Lacis to get to SM&D.

Have fun! I like both stores. And Britex... that is a "mecca" to me (if only I had lots and lots of money to spend when I get to visit).

We will be takign the BART, so I'll look out for Lacis - thanks

I'm really beginning to regret messing up the flights booking so we get one week less here than originally planned!

When you get off of the BART, head toward the parking lot/market stalls to the west side (you may hear some interesting street music), then head up the stairs to the street level. Head north and across the street at the light. On the west side you will find Lacis about 3 or 4 doors up (look in the window displays, you will see lots of lace stuff, and books and the sign for them. I think you have to enter the store to get to the museum portion.

SM&D is several blocks north of Lacis on the same street (which my cheesy memory is forgetting right now).

And yeah, you would have had lots of stuff to do during that extra week. Well, something to plan for a future event?

"People think I have ADD but it's really just.... Oh look a bunny-rabbit!"
ROFL!
I may have to get one of those made up.
Actually, it's being perfectly capable of thinking about six things at once, but only having one mouth to do the talking, as I'm sure you know, all too well.

What size would you want (they're dark blue, by the way) - we could try to pick one up for you if we get a chanced to wander back that way.

If we get back to Castro, I'll see if they have one and pick it up for you.

You were lucky on the crocs. Orange is a real popular men's color because of Mario Battali (go watch Food Network if you haven't seen him yet). But glad you found a color you like.
