They meet somewhere in Budapest speaking French at some coffee shop that sells Turkish coffee and Russian pastries.
I really like this as an opening line because it's suitably ridiculous for two spies who end up communicating in a mix of English, Swedish, and Polish in their first episode together. But also because you bookended it later, and that makes me swoon.
The little parenthetical asides in this are great, and not just because I'm a sucker for dialogue. Also omg, the two of them fixing each other up in their own ways, and Carina finally sticking around long enough to collect on her debt, and this:
Carina leaves a sticky note that says, “don’t do more stupid shit,” stuck to Sarah’s forehead and leaves without a trace of her ever being there.
SO BEAUTIFUL TO MEEEEEEEEEE.
And when they wake up tomorrow morning neither Carina, nor Sarah is there.
