worms and earth day

i find it a little funny that my efforts to start composting have really begun today, on earth day. my worms arrived today. i was very excited. i brought home more coffee grounds, so i unloaded all the packets of those first. then i added the bottom layer of bedding that i moistened first to the bin. spread and fluffed that out. then i opened up

thoughts here...since were all talking gardens...lol....the old house i lived at with all my flower beds..had a awsome spot i use to steal all my dirt from to turn into the new flower beds...it was a spot under a few trees that dropped lots of leaves that went to mulch...than the peeps who lived there before dumped a crap load of wood chips oh top of it. i was digging there one day to make a patio area cause it just screamed for one there...and when i started digging...the worms came crawling out of the shovelfulls like i hit a nest of snakes...huge big fat juicy worms EVERYWHERE..totally unbalievable. not sure if that info helps with raising your own at all
