Hey, it's 2013. But really, I don't find that much of a big deal. I don't find New Year's Eve or New Year's Day very different from any other day personally, but I can understand why other people find it special. I love Portland, but I think the only thing I'd really miss in this area is Powell's and maybe the lack of sales tax.

In the DFW area there are lots of used bookstores called Half Price Books. In Dallas they have a pretty big one. I don't think it compares to Powell's tho. But it's a decent size book store. It also has a few plugs for electric cars in it's parking lot.

I do miss the lack of sales tax, but as I get older I realize that it's an important thing to have for the community. Y'know, if it's used correctly.
